Brila FM thrills fans with Wave Ur Banner

Excitement times are here as football fans are set for another pre-season thrill with Brila FM’s Wave Ur Banner, holding Friday August 12, 2015 at Blue Roof event centre, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos.

Held yearly, the party has come to be recognised as a platform where fans cast partisanship aside and connect to celebrate football, long recognized as the country’s most potent unifier.

This year’s party is headlined by Africa’s frontline artistes such as Davido and his DMW crew, Korede Bello, Falz, Simi, Chidinma, Humble Smith,  Pasuma, AY, Akpororo, Funny-Bone, Acapella, Still Ringing, Funnybone, Kenny Blaq among others.

Held yearly to celebrate every new football season, usually few days before the beginning of Europe’s most glamorous leagues, Wave Ur Banner is organised by Africa’s frontline radio station, Sports Radio 88.9 Brila Fm. First held in 2009, the event has deep roots in the hearts of the Nigerian football fan, who attend yearly, decked colorfully in the kits of their favourite clubs, interacting, partying and enjoying the company of rival fans

According to Jide Ojo, the project manager, “the uniqueness of the event is its removal of boundaries between football fans while giving individuals the freedom to celebrate their clubs, national teams and football fans as they deem fit.

Interestingly, besides featuring some of the most glamorous artistes; comedians and musicians in the country, the event has also attracted football personalities of global repute such as Roberto De Matteo, Chelsea’s Champions League winning coach among others. 

Widely accepted and celebrated across print and electronic media, the 2016 edition of the event is partnered by Ontv, Beatfm, Hiptv, Raypower, AIT, Soundcity, City People,  Encomium, Sportsday, Yes Magazine, Rhythm Fm, Silverbird Tv, Channels, Onsele, List Entertainment, Zenith Sports, Brila Press and  ImageBoosters.
