Pictures from Lagos corner at Notting Hill Carnival, London 2016
Lagos came to London and conquered this past Weekend as the #LoveLagosWeekend campaign by the Lagos State Government rounded off at the "Lagos Corner" at Notting Hill Carnival yesterday Monday.
Prior to the huge celebration of Lagos at the Carnival, there had been the Lagos State Town Hall meeting on Saturday, the MC Abbey show on the same night, then Julius Agwu Crack Ya Ribs on Sunday, and lastly the Lagos Corner.
The Producer of the Lagos Corner and Co Producer of the Love Lagos Weekend, Ayo Shonaiya said, "This has just been another groundbreaking event. As Lagos is looking forward to and counting down to Lagos at 50 next year, how appropriate was it that the Notting Hill Carnival itself just celebrated its 50th anniversary, and to top it all, the Nigerian Corner celebrated its 30th anniversary yesterday too".
Mr. Steve Ayorinde, the Lagos State Commissioner for Information & Strategy, also adds, "London and Lagos have a long, rich history, and choosing to start the global brand awareness campaign for Lagos in London is the right thing to do given the huge number of Lagosians and Friends of Lagos that reside and work there".
The next stop for the Lagos Brand is now at the Toronto Independent Film Festival in September.
